The hiring range for this position is from $37.58/hourly to $43.217/hourly.

The Eastern Ontario Regional Laboratory Association (EORLA) is currently seeking an ambitious, high energy and resourceful Recruitment Specialist to join our team in supporting EORLA’s various recruitment activities.
As the ideal candidate, you will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise in the design and implementation of sourcing and recruitment strategies and programs. Additionally, you will lead recruitment for the organization’s hard-to-fill workforce positions.
What does the Recruitment Specialist do?
- Develops programs, tools and technologies to support the assessment of workforce planning requirements and enable recruitment;
- Evaluates overall recruitment and selection program and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement;
- Researches best practices in recruitment, selection, orientation, and onboarding methods including posting visibility, screening techniques, behaviour-based interview questions, and onboarding processes;
- Develops tools and programs to support hiring managers, evaluate effectiveness, and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement;
- Creates and monitors recruitment performance indicators;
- In collaboration with the HR Team and the hiring managers, identifies requirements, develops and executes sourcing strategy;
- Develops supporting collateral for various sourcing channels;
- Evaluates candidate pool, identifies channels for job postings, interacts with vendors, recruitment firms, job boards and social media platforms to arrange services;
- Vets applicants, prepares short list, drafts interview questions, participates on hiring panels, documents actions, and maintains files;
- Collaborates with hiring managers on candidate selection and offers of employment, oversees completion of letters of employment, and supports negotiation of terms with candidate;
- Interacts with applicants, makes offers of employment, informs unsuccessful applicants of decisions;
- Supports the attraction and retention of key talent for the organization.
Who is EORLA?
The Eastern Ontario Regional Laboratory Association is a member-based, not-for-profit organization providing the laboratory services for the acute care hospitals of the Champlain Region. EORLA oversees the operations of 18 licensed hospital-based clinical laboratories that serve the clinical programs of the 16 member hospitals. Through its mission of providing the best patient outcomes through modern laboratory medicine, innovation and academics, EORLA laboratories provide diagnostic tests for hospital inpatients and registered outpatients. Comprehensive testing is provided by a team of approximately 900 laboratory professionals, providing services in the disciplines of Anatomic Pathology (including Molecular Oncology), Biochemistry, Hematopathology (including Transfusion Medicine, Tissue Typing and Hematology) and Microbiology.

Basic Requirements
- Completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in human resources or a related field;
- Minimum of seven (7) years of previous experience in human resources, with at least three (3) years in a senior recruitment role;
- Experience in recruitment and selection, orientation, and onboarding policies, procedures, and processes;
- Knowledge of collective agreements and relevant governing legislation;
- Experience developing recruitment strategies and supporting programs;
- Highly motivated and demonstrates a collaborative approach to support recruitment activities;
- Experience conducting/participating in candidate interviews;
- Strong written, verbal and communication skills;
- Demonstrated organizational skills;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Proven ability to build and sustain relationships with internal and external stakeholders and to foster a positive onboarding experience;
- Must have a valid driver’s license and travel between laboratory sites and job fairs will be required.
As a pre-condition of employment, all new EORLA employees will be required to obtain and provide a satisfactory Criminal Records Check dated within six (6) months from the date of issue.

Rotation/Shifts

Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (French and English) is considered an asset;
- Previous experience in a Healthcare or Laboratory environment is considered an asset;
- CHRP designation is considered an asset.
