Job Description

Red Wing Shoe Store located at 1550 80 Mahogany Rd SE Calgary. Hourly Range: $19.00/hour to $20.00/hour, based on qualifications and experience. We offer great retail store hours and our Retail Sales Associates typically work 30-35 hours, 3-5 shifts per week depending on availability. We are seeking a long-term permanent team member so please detail availability and potential starting date in your application. This position will be scheduled Wednesday to Sunday with Monday and Tuesdays off.

· Promote and support the high-quality Red Wing brand image through professional selling

· Measure and fit every customer properly

· Explain product features and benefits, as well as technical specifications

· Practice industrial sales lead development on the fitting stool

· Enter customer information and sales into Moneris POS (iPad platform), process payments, exchanges, returns, balance debit/cash daily and complete reporting on sales

· Perform conditioning, cleaning and maintenance services (Tuff Toe) on footwear and other such related tasks

· Keep a tidy and organized workspace, including cleaning and inventory tasks

Qualifications

· High school diploma, college/technical training

· 1-2 years related work experience / training

· Retail footwear and/or wholesale experience is an asset

· Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team is a must (peer-coaching and collaboration as part of ongoing professional learning)

· Dependability and consistency to attend work shifts as scheduled to ensure structure in shift rotations; Understanding “retail” hours include day, evening, weekend, and holiday hours

· Effective written/verbal communication skills with attention to problem solving and respectful and productive communication in the workplace

· Computer utilization and POS experience is an asset (iPad, Dropbox, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe)

· All hires must provide a clean criminal record check and three work references

Physical Demands & Dress Code

· Lifting 30 pounds, bending, lacing shoes, climbing a ladder, inventory management and related shoe maintenance and repair tasks

· Store maintenance duties including but not limited to vacuuming, mopping, steaming, disinfecting surfaces, maintaining floors and walkways, washing windows, rotating inventory and setting up and maintaining displays

· Providing support with social media, OHS meetings, KPI reporting, and other professional learning opportunities across the teams

· Dress Code: Branded uniform tops provided, employee choice on jeans or slacks (no yoga pants), approved PPE footwear. Team members are required to wear an employer provided OHS mask (COVID equipment) as required according to government regulations.

Additional Information

Hours of Operation:

Mon - Wed 10 am - 6 pm

Thur - Fri 10am - 8pm

Sat 10 am - 5 pm

Sun 10 am - 5 pm

Option to participate in Group Health Benefits Program if over 20 hours per week.
