THE ROLE
The Sales Audit Representative is responsible for daily auditing of store and eCommerce transactions, reviewing any errors and making corrections. Also responsible for the verification of electronic payment types: Cash, credit cards, gift cards and other payment types. Responsible for succinct communication with stores and all related internal departments to help maintain a high level of customer care.
The Sales Audit Representative is expected to be highly organized and detail oriented, persevering, assertive, enthusiastic, and approachable. The individual must be able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Reconcile daily cash and balancing to sales reported, including reviewing GL sales postings, store floats, and third party reports from credit cards, gift cards, Paypal, Klarna, HBC Marketplace
- Ensuring any sales audit discrepancies are investigated, reported, resolved and procedures are improved upon
- Manage dropped, denied, chargeback recovery, and other erred transactions and manually charge or refund members accordingly to maintain accurate books and records
- Auditing store float counts, store deposits, petty cash, offline GC counts, tax exemptions, and non-merch sku payments
- Act as a key liaison between retail stores, eCommerce, and finance to ensure established policy and procedures around cash control and sales receipt are being followed
- Managing gift card activations for external and internal promotions, gift cards on hold and mis-issued gift cards
- Address sales audit inbox for any internal or member inquiries/issues around sales and collection
- Assisting with system upgrades and transaction testing, including taking initiative in creating efficient processes
- Assisting with treasury set-up for new store locations and other ad hoc treasury related tasks
- Ensure proper filing of sales audit support documents as required by CRA and privacy law
- Assist with internal and external audits and external party examination requirements related to sales
THE QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary education; degree in Business, Finance or Economics is required
- Knowledge of any ERP system
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- A team player who gets results by collaboratively working with people as a problem solver and decisive decision maker
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Self-motivated, deadline orientated with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently, work with others and contribute to a team environment
