Job Summary
The Sales Specialist, Benchmark & Indices will be driving Datalinx overall Indices & Benchmarks sales strategy to accelerate growth of the business. This includes representing the global business needs across all client segments for indices & benchmark products (including asset owner and managers, ETF issuers, capital markets participants and corporations), working closely with product team to define and prioritize new product plans and requirements and ensure new products satisfy market needs.
The dynamic, accomplished sales professional with expert experience implementing strategic priorities for an Indices and Benchmarks business will report directly to the Global Head of Sales. This role will be responsible for achieving revenue growth targets and working with the generalist sales team to build the pipeline and achieve sales targets. There is a requirement of 25% travel and will be based in Toronto.Key accountabilities:
- Develop and execute business development strategies to drive TMX Datalinx Index and Benchmark strategy
- Actively seek out and generate new index licensing and revenue opportunities by developing deep relationships with institutional clients globally
- Keep pulse on the market and remain well-educated on industry trends
- Build trust with prospects and clients through knowledge sharing
- Assess the competitive environment and compile regular analyses for management review
- Collaborate with the Head of Product, Head of Sales and Head of Marketing to translate clients' and prospects' feedback into effective go-to-market strategies and messaging
- Strive to meet and exceed team and personal sales targets
- Maintain data integrity in Salesforce for all sales activity and pipeline metrics
- Develop sales intelligence and regularly report back on improvements for pipeline generation
Must haves:- Goal oriented business leader with a consistent track record of driving brand and business objectives while maintaining relationships
- Bachelor degree in business, economics or mathematics
- Possess current and well-developed industry relationships
- Excellent practices in client relationship management and processes with an ability to plan, record and lead activities optimally with minimal direction
- A strong understanding the role indices & benchmarks play across the investment lifecycle
- Deep insight and experience within the securities industry, including trading, technology and related functions and knowledge of how broker/dealers, buy side firms traders, analysts, advisors, retail investors and other industry stakeholders apply indices and benchmarks products
- Ability to demonstrate ownership of your role through self-accountability and effective verbal and written communication
- Excellent ability to deliver professional and persuasive presentations
Nice to haves:- CFA certified and MBA preferred
