Job Description
JouJou Hair Studio is expanding and seeking a dynamic Social Media/Content Creator with a passion for Marketing, Public Relations, and Social Media. Your mission is to elevate the brand to new heights by contributing to its expansion and success. As the go-to person for social media, you'll play a key role in developing and implementing a corporate social media strategy. Building strong relationships with our followers across various channels will be a top priority. Additionally, you'll be involved in organizing promotional graphics, videos, and photos.
As the Social Media Manager, you'll collaborate on salon marketing initiatives and create compelling content for our social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.). This will include writing and posting blog posts, tweets, updates, and more. Your tasks will be diverse and adaptable based on the specific salon project at hand. You might find yourself creating/editing videos for social media, managing newsletters, assisting with administrative tasks, and handling troubleshooting when needed.
This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule, determined by the company owner and specific salon needs. You can expect to work a minimum of 10 hours a week, with potential for overtime during peak seasons!

Candidate Requirements:
- Strong writing skills
- Content Creator
- Strong understanding of all social media platforms
- Strong understanding of Word Press and eCommerce knowledge- MUS
- Friendly and outgoing personality
- Creative thinking skills
- Added bonus if you have Graphic Design, Google Analytics, and/or SEO knowledge.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, and Microsoft Office.
- High level of proficiency in written English
- Some photography skills would be an asset.
- If you have (or are working towards) a degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field is a bonus; but we’re more interested in the practical skills that you have and your willingness to learn
Duties include:
- Identify key events for JouJou Hair Studio to sponsor
- Assist in the planning and execution of company marketing
- Develop targeted email campaigns and invitations
- Prepare promotional material
- Attend events with the JouJou Team
- Ensure events are covered on JouJou Hair Studio social media
- Managing the day to day social media platforms, including Instagram, FB, Twitter, Google +, LinkedIn, etc. -ONE POST A DAY MINIMUM ACROSS ALL PLATFORMS
- Brainstorming social media campaigns
- Writing blogs and updating content on websites (joujouhairstio.com AND janetjacksonhairstylist.com)
- Research opportunities contacts and events
- Other duties as assigned
- Daily engagement with people who like, comment, share, and mentions on JouJou Hair accounts. Utilizing Keyword tools for posts.
- Generate Hair Care printable + other downloadable freebies for blog posts and social media channels to encourage more engagement, further establishes brand.
- Social Media Audit
- Review ALL Social Media Accounts
- Track Analytics
- Identify problem areas
- Plan posts and engagement based on analytics
- Understand trends across networks, and adjust depending.
- Perform this Social Media Audit every month and adjust depending*
- Frequency of Posts - minimum of once a day; but can change without notice.
Purposed Weekly Social Media Schedule: The following must be posted at least once a week. **Any other content is based on any promotions, special events, etc., that need to be promoted.
1. Rep your J's - t-shirt promo
2. Wedding hair Wednesday
3. Client selfie. promote #JouJouBeauty #reJouvenated #IamJouJouReady (hashtags)
4. Open 7 Days a week /Open Sundays
5. High Profile “JouJou Beauties”
6. Salon logo must be posted weekly for branding purposes
7. Salon blog once a month…. Send audience to our blog "JouJou's Mane News". (located on our website) JouJou Website - Blog “JouJou’s Mane News” -
Social Media Manager is responsible for creating blog content for the website. ALL content has to be confirmed with Director before posting. post at least 1x a month. Instagram-make feed visually appealing & ALL holidays addressed. Blog images -(articles, food, Sunday Photo, DIY, Image Quotes) & Hair tips Twitter- daily engagement – posts should be linked to all other social media accounts, promote blog posts & utilize keywords to engage people discussing hair - link back to account + studio. Video Content: to be used on ALL social Media Platforms & film videos of stylists, hair transformations, and overall salon space. Stock pile footage to create GIFS, Instagram videos and twitter videos Social Media & Content Creator Position
Qualities Needed:
Experience in writing for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, WordPress & more…
Fierce spelling and grammar skills and extreme attention to detail: Creative/promotional writing
Ability to work independently… as well as in a team
Ability to seamlessly and effectively prioritize multiple tasks at one time
Meticulously organized and attentive to details
Extremely capable at multi-tasking
Consistently punctual and meets deadlines
Committed to pursuing perfection
Proficient in social media management and knowledge of various social media platforms
Experience with Search Engine Optimization, HTML Coding and Word Press.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign an asset, but not mandatory
Communicate in a clear, thorough and timely manner using your skills effectively
High degree of professionalism and confidence
Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships
A passion for marketing and branding
Ability to thrive and excel in a fun, fast paced team environment
Some prior Hair Salon and Industry knowledge is a bonus
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Freelance
Part-time hours: 7-10 per week
Salary: $16.00 per hour
