Social Media Intern
torontoguardian.com, montrealguardian.com, calgaryguardian.com and vancouverguardian.com are arts and culture websites that showcase local businesses, charities, artists, musicians, chefs, find homes for sheltered pets, highlight local history as well as showcase local events. We are looking for someone to come in 3-4 hours a day, Mon-Fri until we are comfortable with your training and then the job will be remote. The candidate should live in Toronto proper with quick access to Yonge and Queen where we will be training.
Responsibilities
Assist in the development of social media strategy
- Assist with posting content on various social media channels
- Assist in creating and maintaining social media accounts
- Assist in the creation of original content (text, image, video) for use on social media channels
- Assist in social media growth
- Attend events and trips to cover them with photos and videos
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in communications or related field.
- Interested in learning more about news/media industry.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members.
- Must be detail oriented and organized.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work well with others on projects.
- Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members.
- Strong grasp of English language (French a bonus)
Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 15-20 per week
Salary: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
