About the Team
Workday Financials Perf and Scale Organization is on an exciting mission to assist oCFO organization to sell Financials and Spend product suite to XLE customers through proven scalability and referenceable large customers! We are looking for an experienced leader to manage our Perf and Scale Development team in Vancouver CA. This organization collaborates effectively with several cross functional groups and teams to produce and deliver our scalability goals while giving an individual a lot of opportunity to grow in their own professional role.About the RoleWhat We Look ForIn a fast paced environment, lead a team of talented, dynamic and passionate software engineers, working with key architects, product managers, cross functional teams and other stakeholders to deliver high quality solutions that solve complex performance and scalability problems across Financials and Spend products. The team will work in an agile environment while safeguarding the high quality our customers expect from Workday applications. Workday is unique in that it builds enterprise software in the cloud on a single codeline through a continuous development model allowing for rapid delivery of our software to our customers.The successful candidate will be able to collaborate with engineering teams across Workday to implement highly scalable solutions with quality to address the needs in this vast market. As a leader you will help people develop and perform as highly as possible. You will guide your teams through ambiguity, manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines, be passionate about building high quality enterprise applications and be innovative in your ideas from a technical, process and relations point of view.
- Lead a team of dynamic software developers to scale and improve performance of the Financial Revenue Management products
- Recruit top talent to grow the team capacity with the ability to motivate and inspire the team
- Partner with Product Managers, Quality Assurance, Technical/Functional Architects, and other stakeholder groups to plan releases, ensure alignment and implement effective solutions to key performance and scalability problems
- Provide estimates and initial assessment for proposed development tasks
- Track and report progress of the project against key milestones
- Balance resources with task assignments
- Ensure on-time and high quality delivery of the project
- Coordinate projects that span multiple teams
- Support team members with career growth and personal development
- Coach teams on how to deliver committed results, meet schedules, exceed customer expectation and resolve complex technical problems
- Recommend changes to processes, methods and implements practices that enables the team to become high-performing.
- Engage with our stakeholders at all stages of the product lifecycle to ensure we are solving the right problems and defining the right solutions technically.
- Keep stakeholders updated throughout the development cycle.
About YouBasic Qualifications- 5+ years of relevant engineering experience
- 3+ years proven experience leading development teams in agile environments, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of OO software design and development experience
- Experience in growing a team by hiring and retaining talent at all levels of experience
Other qualifications- Experience in a Test Driven development
- Proven ability to balance multiple priorities and communicate across organizational boundaries
- BS in Computer Science or a related field
