About the Role
The Project Manager role is a temporary full-time position, reporting to the Director, Information Technology.
We are seeking a self-motivated IT Project Manager who is passionate about driving organizations to achieve profound improvements in their business performance and inspired to utilize their broad project management skills to help us deliver on our mission. The candidate will also possess a background in business skills, strategic planning, risk management, change management, budgeting, and analysis. The candidate will also be an excellent communicator, team player with a problem-solving aptitude.
- Be responsible for end-to-end delivery of assigned projects through the full life cycle
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the goals and objectives of a given project align with the organization’s overall business strategy
- Define the project’s scope and determine what resources are available
- Lead project teams to achieve successful implementations and executions
- Monitor project progress with regards to goals and objectives, budget management, time management and risk management
- Prepare agendas and lead different types of project meetings
- Be responsible for communication flow and all documentation related to the project
- Prepare and share project status reports with all involved stakeholders
- Build a cordial professional relationship with business units to facilitate engagement
What you Bring
- 5+ years prior experience with delivering several multi-month projects
- University degree in computer or project management
- PMP and PBA certifications are assets
- Proficient in project management software (Microsoft Project)
- Experience in bringing business systems technology to life through an agile or waterfall delivery model
- Strong knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management
- Experience at building effective plans leveraging work back schedules while weaving in multiple internal and external group timelines and dependencies
- Experience in business process analysis and re-design at an organizational level, including change management and training on implementation
- Experience with delivering projects involving combined internal and external team members (staff and vendors)
- Strong business analytical acumen and the flexibility to work both as a project manager and perform business analyst-type tasks
- Detail oriented, extremely well organized, and able to manage time and multi-task to accomplish a multitude of tasks, with conflicting priorities and timelines
- Ability to deal with stakeholders in a professional and courteous manner, and to develop and leverage professional working relationships
- Strong relationship building and relationship management skills
- Highly inquisitive, and comfortable working with ambiguity
- Ability to work both independently, as well as to play a key role in building a cohesive team
