Acres Animal Hospital is an independently owned and operated small animal hospital offering integrative veterinary medicine. Dr. Laura Lee offers a wide range of veterinary services including conventional medicine, surgery, dentistry, laboratory tests, radiographs, pharmaceuticals, and integrative options such as acupuncture, traditional Chinese herbal medicine, animal chiropractic (spinal manipulation), and fascial (myofascial) therapy. Our goal is to provide the best veterinary health care and quality of life possible to each individual patient in a friendly, respectful, and informative environment. Overview of Position
We are looking for an experienced veterinary assistant-receptionist to join our team for full time hours.

The Veterinary Assistant-Receptionist’s Responsibilities Include:
- answer telephones and take and relay messages
- schedule appointments
- manage appointment check-ins
- invoicing and cash reconciliation at end of day
- maintain a clean and orderly hospital environment
- accurate record keeping using veterinary software
- client education and communication, both verbal and written
- animal handling and restraint
- assist with patient care and treatment
The Veterinary Assistant-Receptionist’s Job Requirements Include:
- completion of a college veterinary assistant program
- prior experience working as a veterinary assistant or veterinary receptionist preferred
- able to comply with all safety protocols to ensure safety of self, co-workers, and clients
- strong communication skills, verbal and written
- animal handling skills: experience with cats and dogs is required; experience with horses an asset
- able to lift small patients unassisted and larger patients with assistance
Weekdays only, no weekends or overnight. Regular schedule. Group benefits plan & employee discounts.
There are no remote or work-from-home job options available. Due to the nature of veterinary medicine, all work must be done on site. Applicant must have reliable transportation, COVID-19 vaccination, and be able to work in a manner that complies with public health protocols, and keeps co-workers, clients, and themself safe. Applicant must be available to work Monday through Friday for afternoon and evenings, approximately 11 am to 7 pm, but exact times vary according to the day of the week and patient caseload.

COVID-19 considerations:
Staff and clients are required to wear masks, surfaces are frequently disinfected, staff vaccination is required, curbside service is available. Dr. Lee is our sole veterinarian, and is at risk due to age, chronic lung condition, and injury recovery.
