Position: Sales Account Manager, Gruppo Terroni
Full Time Permanent
Location: Toronto, Canada (Remote)
Gruppo Terroni is seeking a Sales Manager to build and manage our growing wholesale business in the GTA. Since 1992, our philosophy of doing business, core values and commitment to providing the best in food, wine, and customer service along with an authentic passion for Italian culture has proven itself with the test of time. Our family run business has now grown over the years into a multi-faceted operation encompassing restaurants, bakeries, commissaries and retail in Toronto and Los Angeles, operating under the brands Terroni, Sud Forno, Spaccio, Cavinona Wine Agency and La Bottega di Terroni online shop.
THE ROLEWe are looking for results-driven, proactive, and highly motivated Sales Manager to expand Gruppo Terroni’s reach and distribution through the specialty grocery & retail channel. Reporting to the Vice President Commissaries, Sud Forno & Importing, you will be responsible for growing our Spaccio & Scorte Brand wholesale business by leveraging existing infrastructure and building new revenue channels. Our ideal candidate will be highly skilled at lead generation, managing a sales pipeline and telling the Terroni story to prospective partners. They will take initiative and be very comfortable giving dynamic presentations that unlock new business opportunities for the brand.This role is right for you if you are looking to build something, be the first dedicated employee in your department, and enjoy creating scalable sales systems and processes. It is a full time SALES position, with work primarily taking place remotely.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Business Development: develop and implement overarching outbound sales and business development strategy
- Account Growth: Actively seek out new accounts to build wholesale business and increase sales in the GTA and other areas of southern Ontario
- Lead Generation: monitor and evaluate industry trends and customer drivers and develop strategy
- Negotiations: support deal structure and pricing with business-value analysis, and negotiate prices for proactive bids and proposals
- Account Management & Coordination: once contracts are secured, work with finance to negotiate terms, manufacturing to plan volumes, and logistics to deliver on time and on budget
- Trade Spend Effectiveness: manage trade spend with retailers with the goal of maximizing sales and optimizing ROI
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
· 5+ years’ experience in retail sales, ideally with experience in specialty retailers
· Exceptional oral, written communication and influencing skills
· Motivated self-starter who is highly organized
· Experience developing and managing a sales quota and lead pipeline
· Passion for sales and curating outstanding customer experiences
· Independent thinker who is self-driven and confident to take action to get results
· Excellent verbal and written skills in English
· Fluency in Italian language and/or culture highly an asset
· An authentic passion for Italian food and products a must
· Degree in business, economics, marketing or related field an asset
