What we are looking for
DeckMart is looking for a detail-oriented General Accountant to undertake accounting and accounts payable duties. As the General Accountant you will be responsible for the daily performance of a variety of accounting and related functions. This will consist of full-cycle accounting; interacting with Company directors, the staff responsible for inventory management, and the sales department.
The successful candidate will be detail oriented, accurate and self-disciplined while playing a vital role in providing support for all accounting operations.
What you will be doing
- Conducting thorough examination and reconciliation of bank statements.
- Integrating and reconciling the accounting system with online bank accounts.
- Handling, filing and reporting for T4, T4A, HST, WSIB, as well as other accounting and financial reports.
- Analyzing and handling expense processing.
- Carry out EFT, ACH, and wire payments, as well as process check deposits.
- Processing payroll efficiently.
- Manage accounts payable and reconcile vendor invoices with purchase orders.
- Manage the organization and filing of accounting documentation.

Qualifications
- Strong experience in utilizing cloud-based accounting software.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Expertise with bank accounts reconciliation and inventory accounting.
- Knowledge and experience with HST, T4s, WSIB.
- Ability to process payroll accurately and timely.
- High degree of accuracy, self-discipline and organizational skills.
- A minimum of 5 years of extensive accounting experience, preferably in a retail sector, encompassing all aspects of the accounting cycle.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
