Summary:
The Accounting Assistant’s responsibilities include assisting the Accounting Team Lead
with entering receivables invoices, payables invoices and credit card statements. They are responsible for performing highly diversified duties to ensure the efficient and smooth day-to-day operation of the financials in the company. They organize their work using tools like MS Excel, Sage 50 Accounting and office equipment.

Job Duties:
- Review packing lists/purchase orders and issue sales invoices
- Keep track/accept payments for sales invoices
- Enter payables invoices into the accounting system
- Prepare payment remittances for suppliers
- Review company credit card statements and enter receipts in the accounting system
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliation for CAD and USD accounts
- Prepare foreign exchange adjustment entry monthly
- Assist Accounting Team Lead with monthly financial reports.
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically and professionally at all times
- Prioritizes sustainability and the environment when engaged in business relations
- Assist other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Minimum 1-year experience in accounts receivable/accounts payable role
- Post secondary education, specific to accounting or comparable
- Ethical behaviour when dealing with sensitive financial information
- Highly motivated and able to work independently
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with other general computer skills
- Knowledge of Sage 50 Canadian version is an advantage
- Reduce environmental impact whenever possible
Work Conditions:
- Full-time, Monday to Friday availability
- Sitting/walking throughout the day
- Working on a computer for most of the day
- Ability to work independently, as well as being a strong team player
- Have good attendance and safety record
