Job Description
Hipperson Construction is a Regina based General Contractor providing commercial and industrial construction services to a wide variety of clients in the three prairie provinces. As the company achieves consistent growth, we require additional expertise and skills in our accounting team.
The Accounting Clerk will report to the Senior Accountant and is responsible to:
Accounts Payable
· Match Purchase Orders to invoices
· Verifying and inputting invoices –making sure the appropriate amount of GST & PST was applied
· Issuing cheques or on-line payments to suppliers
· Obtaining required documents to release payments
· Reviewing statements
· Filling out credit applications for new suppliers
· Taking calls from vendors regarding payment issues
· Collecting serial numbers & asset tags numbers on new items purchased
· Maintaining spreadsheet of rental items
Insurance of Inventory
· Maintaining spreadsheet of replacement values
· Adding/deleting equipment
Other duties
· Submission of WCB sub-contractor report once a year
· Checking Visa statements and entering transactions
· Dealing with questions from site &/or vendors
Qualifications:
- A diploma accounting or relevant experience in the accounting field.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Knowledge of construction accounting would be considered an asset
- Strong math, critical thinking, problem solving and analytical review capabilities;
- Strong organizational skills, detail orientation, accuracy and analytical skills;
- Demonstrated computer proficiency using Microsoft Office and accounting/ financial management software
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to be a team player;
