Job Description
We are looking for an Accounting Administrator for a 12-month contract position with possible extensions in Calgary, Alberta. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Hybrid schedule, at least 4 days in the office. 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week. It is NOT a remote role.
Role Description:
The Cash – Receivable team is a centralized support to the entire Corporation for Cash application related needs. The Cash – Receivable Accounting Administrator is responsible for providing a timely processing of electronic and manual Cash application, ensuring offsetting is completed accurately and on time. Oher duties include Month End Reconciliation of Cash related General Ledger clearing accounts, responding to queries and providing direction and support to business units.
Responsibilities:
• Identify new approaches to doing tasks to increase efficiency
• Effectively communicate with internal customers and team members
• Make recommendations for improvement to process
• Triage Cash - Receivables shared email inboxes
• Process daily incoming payments in SAP for various Cenovus companies
• Daily Review of SAP FIORI Bank Statement items and clear to appropriate GL’s or offset to customer accounts.
• Provide support for team during vacations and absences
• Provide support for projects impacting Cash – Receivable team
• Perform Cash - Receivable monthly procedures including GL account reconciliations
• Create and update procedure manual
Deliverables:
• Timely processing of incoming cash to GL’s or customer accounts
• Timely responses to internal and external inquiries
• Monthly preparation of Cash - Receivable account reconciliations
• Support for Team Lead in adhoc requests
• Provide support and guidance for projects
Required Skills and Experience:
• 3 – 5 years accounting experience in a similar role
• Business admin diploma would be an asset
• Oil and gas experience is an asset
• SAP experience highly desired
• Strong organization skills
• Attention to detail
• Excellent time management
• Accepting of change and adapts quickly
• Collaborative
• Works with minimal supervision
