We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team and assist with the day-to-day financial operations of the company. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing financial statements, maintaining ledgers, reconciling accounts, and performing other accounting tasks as needed. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a working knowledge of accounting principles, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain financial records and using computerized accounting systems.
- Post journal entries and reconcile accounts, prepare trial balance of books, maintain general ledgers and prepare financial statements.
- Prepare or co-ordinate the preparation of financial statements, summaries, and other cost-benefit analyses and financial management reports.
- Evaluate financial reporting systems, accounting procedures and internal controls and make recommendations for changes to procedures, operating systems, budgets etc. to management.
- Calculate Payroll liability and prepare cheques for utility, tax and other bills
- Prepare period or cost statements or reports.
- Prepare financial and accounting reports.
- Calculate, prepare and issue documents related to accounts such as bills, invoices, account statements and other financial statements using computerized systems.
- Assist in preparation and co-ordination for financial draws for ongoing construction projects.
- Project wise Tracking Billing Summaries for each and every consultants
- Schedule of Value tracking for all contractors for the projects under construction
- Ensure updates WSIB, Insurance Certificates and statutory declarations for the payments are available from Contractors
- Keep Track of all Utilities account and ensure timely payments utilities and taxes
- Filling of invoices in physical copies as well as soft copies
- Managing daily mails received in the office and circulate it to team
- Property Management Accounts Receivable - Rent withdrawals, reconciling accounts in Yardi software- assisting site staff with tenant accounts
- Property Management Accounts Payable - Enter authorized payables, reconcile accounts as required
- Assist in preparing responses for queries from external, internal audits and CRA audits
- Payable Reconciliations & Payments to vendors
- Other duties as requested by management
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $51,000.00-$70,569.41 per year
