Accountant
Roger Coombs & Associates Professional Corporation is a professional accounting firm that provides assurance, review engagements, compilation engagements, bookkeeping and tax services to their client base. With its location in Paradise, NL, the Accountant position is an integral part of the Roger Coombs & Associates Professional Corporation team.
Essential Functions:
- Supporting our clients through the application of high quality accounting skills coupled with strong professionalism and communication skills
- Preparing year end financial statements and filing of corporate income tax returns
- Preparation of filing of HST returns and other filings such as payroll remittances and workers compensation.
- Preparation of personal income tax returns
- Assists with month-end close process, including reconciliation of bank accounts, preparation of journal entries and preparing supporting documentation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience preferably with a public accounting firm.
- Must be proficient in Sage, QuickBooks and Excel.
- Working knowledge of CaseWare working papers and profile tax suite would be an asset.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time effectively.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and adaptability to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting practices.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
