Role and Responsibilities: As our Accounting Clerk, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of accounts payable and payroll. Responsibilities will include:
1. Accounts Payable: manage the full cycle of a high volume of supplier payables, including accurately verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data.
2. Payroll: collect and verify timekeeping information for all employees, submitting accurate employee information and payroll data to our bank on a weekly basis.
3. Clerical:perform other administrative and clerical duties, including maintaining filing and record keeping systems and assisting with other general office duties as required.
Qualifications: To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
1. High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in accounting is an asset.
2. 5+ years’ experience as an Accounting Clerk or equivalent, preferably in the construction industry, and preferably including experience processing accounts payable and payroll.
3. Proficient in using computerized accounting software, payroll software, e-mail, and MS Word and Excel.
4. Proven ability to multitask with a superior level of attention to detail and accuracy.
5. Reliable attendance, with excellent organizational and time management skills.
6. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with vendors, suppliers, and colleagues in a professional and friendly manner.
7. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute positively to team and workplace goals.
8. A high level of integrity and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
