We are currently looking for a Senior Accountant in Saint John, NB
As a member of the dynamic Source Atlantic Finance team, the Senior Accountant is responsible for managing financial reporting systems and preparing financial statements, performing account reconciliations, and assisting with budget and close processes.

As a Senior Accountant your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensure integrity of the general ledger through maintenance & reconciliations
- Serve as a Financial reporting system (Hyperion) administrator (maintaining accounts, benchmark calculations)
- Participate in the month end processes and review of the financial statments
- Perform monthly Branch P&L reviews and serve as a liaison with assigned branches on all matters of financial reporting
- Become team champion for leveraging technology tools to enhance reporting capabilities (Power BI, EBA)
- Oversee complete cycle of the fixed assets accounting process, including forecasting
- Ensure accuracy of property accounting (rents, insurance)
- Prepare monthly accruals (utilities, legal & audit, revenue & customer discounts) and complete their reconciliation and analysis
- Manage intercompany balances & billings
- Relentlessly drive efficiencies aimed at improving accuracy, shortening month-end closing cycle and reduction of manual entries
- Participate in ad-hoc projects as required
- Assist in budget and forecast preparations and in the preparation of external auditor requirements for the year-end financial statement audits of all Source Atlantic entities
Qualifications:
- University Degree or Community College Diploma, with major in accounting or finance
- Have completed, or are near completion of the CPA program
- 3-5 years' experience in financial accounting
- Analytical and critical thinking mindset
- Highly detail oriented with strong time and priorities management skills
- Aptitude for learning; knowledge of Power Microsoft tools would be considered an asset
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
- Team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
- High energy, self-motivated and positive attitude
- Results driven with a process improvement mindset
