Who We Are Looking For:
Reporting to the Director of Finance, we are seeking a full-time accounting specialist who will:
- demonstrate proficiency in general accounting and payroll administration:
- contribute meaningfully to a control environment in which financial policies, procedures, and internal control requirements are followed.
- conduct themselves professionally and collegially with all colleagues, and internal and external stakeholders;
- support change management initiatives
What is expected of you
This is a permanent, full-time position. You will be responsible for performing the following duties:
Ongoing:
- Overseeing cash flow requirements and prepare cash flow forecast
- Oversee Accounts payable and Accounts receivable functions and employees
- Maintaining an effective filing system for detailed financial records
- Maintaining records of organization’s credit card transactions
- Payroll masterfile maintenance
Bi-weekly:
- Full cycle payroll administration
Monthly:
Leading month-end close process, including
- Closing all subledgers;
- Preparing journal entries for review by management and posting to general ledger;
- Tracking accrued expenses and ensuring completeness of liabilities recorded in general ledger;
- Reconciling all balance sheet accounts on monthly basis;
- Preparing financial statements
- Preparing bi-weekly payroll tax remittance
- Preparing monthly HST returns
- Tracking spending on capital projects to ensure expenditures do not exceed budget
- Supporting ad hoc analysis as required
Annually:
- Assisting in preparation of working papers for annual audit of financial statements
- Preparing annual T4 information return for review by management
- Preparing annual EHT and WSIB returns
- Preparing all annual tax filing requirements
Your Qualifications
- A CPA designation is preferred.
- At least 3 years of relevant senior accounting professional experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in using accounting systems, and in particular, Microsoft Excel
- Ability to apply the use of technology to maximize efficiencies
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong communication skills
- Prior experience in the non-for-profit sector is an asset

Total Compensation Package
Approximate value per year
Your annual salary $74,000 - $85,000
Your total compensation package including your salary the benefits offered by the Club is up to $102,600.
- Canada Life Group Health benefit, which covers medical, prescription, dental and much more up to $5,500
- You can also participate in our RRSP program, where The Club will match your contribution up to 5%. (Eligibility: permanent employees who work more than 35 hours a week) up to $4,250
- You may also take advantage of our Fitness Reimbursement Plan where the Club will reimburse 80% up to $60.00 of your monthly health club membership. up to $480
- You may also take advantage of our Phone Reimbursement Plan where the Club will reimburse up to $50.00 of your monthly phone bill up to $600
- You may also choose any item from the Staff Menu, coffee, teas, soft fountain drinks and soups, which are provided to all employees as a part of TLTC Staff Meal Benefits Plan up to $1,548
- Your maximum performance-based bonus is equal to 5% of your annual salary up to $4,250
