This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement in which you can work part-time at the Company location identified above and part-time remotely from your home. The Opportunity:
The candidate will support the internal and external financial reporting process, meeting deadlines and ensuring the integrity of the Company’s financial data. As well, the candidate will provide business partners with timely, relevant and insightful financial reporting to support business needs. Once established the candidate will have the opportunity to learn our month end close process and applying accounting policies.
As a Junior Accounting Associate, you will:
Month-End Close (95%):
- Support the month end process including recording standard journal entries, as required, and reconciliations.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and AP/AR subledger reconciliations
- Prepare ad-hoc reporting
- Assist in preparation of financial reporting
- Perform cost roll ups (part and project cost rolls)
- Manage and complete daily tasks (vendor, customer setups & project creations)
- Support and assist in data entry tasks (payroll, warranty, etc)
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual stats required
- Other projects as assigned
Danaher Business System (DBS) Excellence (5%):
- Embrace and utilize a culture with regular kaizen activities, leveraging daily management and continuous process improvement to achieve sustainable competitive advantage.
- Solve technical problems, evaluating systems and or processes to determine root cause and implement corrective actions as required, engaging subject matter experts as needed
- Continuously improve our execution plans for projects, drive improvements thru Danaher Business System tools
- Ability to travel 10% of time
Are you qualified? The essential requirements of the job include:
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Knowledge of US GAAP required
- 1-2 years of finance and accounting experience
Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience in Management Accounting (i.e. understanding of entries/double entries in finance)
- Intermediate Excel skills (including v-lookup and formula execution)
- Knowledge of standard business practices in a public company
It would be a plus if you also possess:
- Experience in project accounting
- Experience in absorption accounting
- Knowledge of municipal and industrial water market
