Position Summary:

The position of Health Care Aide Educational Assistant will commit to incorporate our mission, vision, and our values, which are Compassion, Collaboration, Respect, Social Justice, Integrity and Stewardship, and uphold our ethical traditions as foundational aspects in all actions and decision-making.
Reporting to the Recreational Therapist the Recreation Aide will assist in the planning, implementation and evaluation of recreation and leisure programs to meet the physical, social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual and cultural needs and interests of the residents. The Recreation Aide works collaboratively with the healthcare team to promote resident awareness and participation in programs and opportunities and support recreation & leisure programming for the residents.
Qualifications:
- Alberta HCA/Recreation Aide certificate required
- One (1) to two (2) years of Therapeutic Recreation experience preferred
- Possess a valid Class 4 driver's license is preferred
- Ability to maintain good working relations with staff, public and outside agencies
- Flexibility with changes in the organization and maintain a positive outlook
- Training or experience in social services, recreation or related discipline preferred
- This position requires you to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and all other required communicable diseases under Covenant Care’s OHS policy
