Kumon is the world’s largest after-school math and reading enrichment program and one of the most established franchise businesses in the world - with more than 400,000 subjects enrolled and more than 1,500 individually owned and operated centers in the U.S. and Canada alone.
We are looking for an experienced, committed individual who will check in students into the center, interact with parents and students and assist with other activities such as grading, appointments, updates and data entry. Very good interpersonal & multi-tasking skills, organization, positive and friendly attitude towards parents and students and basic computer skills are required.
Job Description:
Outside class hours, the ideal candidate will:
- Handle of all incoming parent inquiries (walk-ins, voicemail messages, phone calls and those forwarded from the call center); including but not limited to sharing about the Kumon Method, signing parents up for an orientation, making reminder phone calls or mailings.
- Be responsible for all meeting preparation, which includes preparing materials and room set‐up.
- Manage incoming and outgoing email and courier deliveries.
- Order and maintain the inventory of materials and general office supplies.
- Handle administrative tasks relating to the Center operation as needed.
- Be proactive about improvements to customer care and administrative responsibilities.
- Maintain student files and records organized and updated.
- Use all functions of the Kumon software program (CMS) to manage student progress, make work adjustments as required.
- Pull appropriate worksheets and prepare student folders with necessary materials.
- Be responsible for the appearance and operational needs of the office.
- Assist with cleaning and organizing the Center.
During class hours, the ideal candidate will:
- Greet students and oversee check-in and check-out routines; assist parents as needed.
- Promote a quiet classroom setting and orderly environment.
- Use all functions of the Kumon software program (CSS) to manage class occupation, student´s schedule, and library.
- Work effectively and cooperatively within the overall Center team.
- Assist other staff during class downtime.
- Grade worksheets (accurately and efficiently grade completed worksheets with designated markings) and enter worksheet grades into record books.
- Provide feedback to the Instructor regarding observations of students.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:

- Strong initiative and desire to help Kumon reach its goals.
- Quick thinking and the ability to solve problems with minimal supervision.
- High proficiency with MS Office (preferably with 2007 or higher).
- Be a demonstrated team player.
- Be professional and diplomatic at all times.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- Previous Kumon experience not required, but an asset.
This is a permanent, part-time position which guarantees 20 hours per week.
Candidate must be available to work Monday to Friday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
