Job Description:
The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Accounting Department with daily tasks and projects. This individual will be responsible for entering all accounting data into the Reynolds and Reynolds software and assisting with various accounting projects as needed. This position will also assist with month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger reconciliations as needed. This position will report to the Controller.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Enter all accounting data into the Reynolds and Reynolds software
- Account payable, receivable and payroll duties
- Perform month-end and year-end close tasks and projects
- Reconcile accounts in the general ledger system based on financial data such as entries, adjustments, closing entries, etc.
- Verify month-end and year-end close results by other staff members and report any discrepancies to management
- Assist in daily project management tasks and manage additional tasks as needed by management
- Assist in preparation of financial statements
- Assist in monthly inventory reconciliation for monthly reporting to external auditors
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management
Skills Required
- Minimum of 1 year accounting experience
- Post secondary education in Accounting
- Reynolds and Reynolds experience preferred
- Dealership experience
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
