Overview
In this role, you’ll partner with the Director to build a strong team, establish and maintain positive relationships with our team, our partners, our leaders, and key stakeholders from across the organization, delivering on a shared vision of delivering exceptional and aligned people services. Where you’ll work
At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.
In this role, you’ll work primarily from your B.C. home and be on-site at a minimum of once per week in our Richmond office or based on operational needs.
What you'll do
- Partner with the Director to pro-actively plan, prioritize, and manage programs and initiatives
- Pro-actively prioritize and organize tasks for the director by keeping track of deadlines and following-up on items with the management team, finding opportunities to delegate work to the management team as appropriate
- In partnership with the Director, keep a pulse on our team health and needs, work closely with the leadership team to make suggestions and plan effective meetings for the team
- Organize and prepare complex and confidential reports upon request
- Tracks, collects, and reconciles team data on KANBAN board that informs trends.
- Compose written responses, memos, minutes, presentations, and communications from both verbal and printed sources
- Support the director and managers by performing administrative responsibilities including maintaining calendars, managing appointments, meetings, and team events
- Review, analyze, delegate, and respond to a variety of inquiries from internal and external sources by leveraging established networks and relationships across the organization
- Review and manage departmental budgets and invoices
- Initiate purchase requisitions and invoice payments

- Interact with key WorkSafeBC personnel and external sources while exercising discretion in providing information in the absence of the director
- Communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, to a variety of groups and individuals
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Synthesize information to summarize main points
- Adapt, be flexible and learn quickly
- Proficiency with technology and in Microsoft applications
Your background and experience
- Completion of Grade 12 and some post-secondary education is an asset
- A minimum of 3 years of related experience supporting senior management and/or director level operations
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Teams
