The Research and Community Planning Junior Associate supports the operation of Toward Common Ground by assisting with tasks that fulfil TCG’s two key functions: 1) centralize local data and information about social and health wellbeing; and 2) take collective action in response to shared needs.
Basic Responsibilities:
- Assist with conducting local community research and program evaluation, including supporting gathering and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, supporting the development of surveys.
- Support the Community Resilience Coalition of Guelph & Wellington. Responsibilities may include documenting discussions and decisions made in meetings, literature reviews, supporting the development of training and resources for target audiences.
- Assist with Toward Common Ground Operations, such as organizing and scheduling meetings, taking and distributing minutes, supporting follow-up actions.
- Assist with knowledge mobilization. Responsibilities may include supporting data dashboard updates, summarizing local data and information in formats that are accessible and supporting and supporting the implementation of communications and/or social media plans.
Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in relevant field (e.g., health sciences, social work, psychology)
- Training in and/or experience conducting literature reviews and secondary research
- Training in and/or experience conducting primary research and program evaluation
- Basic qualitative and/or quantitative data analysis skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience presenting to diverse audiences
- Knowledge of the social determinants of health and health equity
- Experience taking minutes
- High level of confidentiality
- Work well as part of a team
- Understanding of how to use social media as a communication tool is an asset
This is primarily a home office-based position. The successful candidate will need to be available and willing to attend in-person meetings in Guelph and Wellington County.
