The Director of Data Analytics and Health Information Management is currently seeking a Business Intelligence Developer. The purpose of the position is to support Waypoint’s data analytics and business intelligence program, including responsibility for designing, modelling, developing, maintaining and enhancing Waypoint’s data environments and tools/solutions. This role will also support reporting, analytics and business intelligence/decision support solutions to meet the information needs and strategic goals of the organization.
Please Note: This position offers a hybrid work environment consisting of in-office and remote work. Office location is 500 Church St in Penetanguishene, ON
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Develop and maintain an overall data architecture, design principles, quality control, and data standards for the organization that supports the information needs of the business in a secure environment following best practice guidelines
- Manage Enterprise data warehouse, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) ETL, SQL replication and data transformations as required to support requests in on-premise and cloud-based environments
- Conceptualize and guide data requirements, including initiation, oversight and evaluation of projects, initiatives and operations
- Develop and maintain data models, data dictionaries, data maps and other artifacts, including conceptual and physical models, as well as a metadata repository
- Create business requirements, including functional and technical specifications and access controls
- Maintain and document standard operating procedures related to Data & Analytics database environments
- Supports, follows and contributes to information governance and data standards established by the organization
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post Secondary Education in the field of computer science, information systems, software engineering or information technology, or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience
- Certifications in Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)/Solutions Developer (MCSD) or other relevant equivalent certifications
- Minimum of 5 years recent and related experience, including in relational database, data model development, data warehousing, data analytics and business intelligence and object programming
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferable
- Previous experience with Electronic Medical Records is preferable
- Database Programming languages including T-SQL, NET Framework (C#), Microsoft Entity Framework, and other reporting and development languages such as DAX in order to develop customized applications for automation and UI/UX development.
- Knowledge of APIs to interact with data from other applications or external vendors (RESTful, JSON, SOAP).
- Experience working with SSMS, Azure Data Studio, Visual Studio and VS Code using GIT for repository for code storage.
- Experience with cloud-based BI, and data virtualization, including Azure platform and Power BI Services
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a results-oriented work ethic and resiliency in order to adapt readily to change
- Analytical thinking skills in order to identify patterns and insights into unstructured data
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
