The Opportunity
The City of St. Albert’s Financial and Strategic Services department is recruiting for a permanent, full time Utility Billing Supervisor.
Reporting to the Financial Operations Controller, this position will be responsible for the supervision of four Utility Services Representatives.
The key responsibilities will include:
- Directing the work of the team on a day-to-day basis;
- Conducting performance reviews, training, and monitoring the duties of the team;
- Participate in recruitment scheduling, authorizing leave and ensuring the team is supported;
- Coordinate with other City teams and contractors to deliver utility services;
- Provide customer service to residents, and address escalated concerns;
- Review complex billing adjustments, assessing account issues and developing solutions to them.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma with a minimum of 3 years experience in an accounting or revenue field.
- A minimum of 2 years experience in a supervisory role.
- Experience responding to complex customer issues, and de-escalating heightened customers, is an asset.
- Prior experience working in a utility services setting is an asset.
- Accounting and finance knowledge are an asset.
- Excellent speaking and written skill.
- Ability to meet both cyclical and emergent deadlines, as well as managing competing demands.
- Skill in both managing and delegating a high volume of tasks.
Hours of Work
We offer a compressed work schedule of 72 hours bi-weekly, Monday - Friday, 8:00 – 5:00, with a biweekly regular day off (RDO).
Compensation
$70,532 - $86,809 per annum. In addition, the City of St. Albert offers a generous and comprehensive benefit package.
