We are currently looking for a Bookkeeper to join our fast-growing team. We offer flexible working hours and a casual environment.
Job Description
As the Bookkeeper, you will play a vital role in our organization. Your primary responsibility will be to manage bookkeeping and provide general accounting support, focusing on areas such as accounts payable and invoicing. You'll have the opportunity to leverage your accounting expertise, reporting to the CEO to support financial accuracy and efficacy of the business.
Job Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable transactions on a daily basis to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Prepare invoices for payment in accordance with provincial buyer purchase order requirements and supervisor's instructions.
- Organize and file documents and invoices systematically to ensure efficient record-keeping.
- Conduct monthly bank reconciliation processes for multiple accounts, ensuring accuracy and identifying any discrepancies.
- Assist with year-end preparations for annual filings, collaborating with the finance team to meet reporting requirements.
- Undertake ad-hoc finance and administrative tasks as required, demonstrating versatility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
Skill Requirements:
- Strong understanding of core bookkeeping and accounts payable principles, ensuring accurate and compliant financial processing.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, and Access, facilitating efficient data management and analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records with precision and attention to detail.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, enabling effective management of tasks and priorities.
- Eagerness to learn and expand knowledge, demonstrating a proactive approach to personal and professional development.
- Discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive and confidential information, maintaining the highest ethical standards.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment, adapting to various work styles and contributing to a positive team dynamic.
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing industry.
- Comfort and confidence in communicating with provincial and federal government agencies responsible for Cannabis sales and distribution.
- Experience with QuickBooks is an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be located in the Edmonton Area, as remote work is not available for this position.
Educational requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree and/or 2 year college diploma in a related field.
Physical Demands:
- This position is in person on site only. This is not a remote or hybrid position.
- Able to engage with a computer screen for long periods of time.
- Able to sit for long periods of time.
- Comfortable working in an access controlled environment and able to follow contamination prevention procedures and regulations applicable to all employees.
- All employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before entering the facility.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Negotiable Salary
