Duties:
- Manage the full cycle of bookkeeping processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and process invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions, ensuring proper documentation and organization.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries and financial statement preparation.
- Reconcile and balance various accounts, such as bank accounts, credit cards, and vendor statements, promptly identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Generate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to provide insights on the company's financial performance.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities, monitoring expenses, and analyzing financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with internal teams, such as sales and operations, to ensure accurate recording and reporting of financial information related to inventory, sales, and expenses.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting principles, policies, and regulations.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing measures to streamline bookkeeping procedures and enhance efficiency.
- Assist with the preparation of reports and correspondence
- Assist with the preparation of invoices and other related documents
- Answer phone calls, take messages, and respond to emails
- Process credit card payments
- Providing office and administrative support
- Tracking fixed assets to produce depreciation schedules
- Reconciling payables and receivables
Requirements:
- Strong organization skills with attention to detail. (Detail-oriented and accurate is a must)
- Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to effectively communicate with clients, vendors, and internal team members via phone and email, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and providing exceptional customer service.
- Capable of working independently with minimal oversight.
- Takes initiative
- Strong familiarity with bookkeeping.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Strong team player
- Post-secondary degree, diploma, certificate in Finance or Accounting
Experience:
- 2+ years of full-cycle Bookkeeping experience
- Experience with payroll preferred
- QuickBooks: 2 years+ of experience
