Job Description
Perfetti Van Melle - one of the world's largest manufacturers and distributors of confectionery and chewing gum with global brands that are being enjoyed in more than 150 countries worldwide - is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Associate Brand Manager, Canada to join our growing team.
The Associate Brand Manager will support the designated brands through leadership of business analysis, key projects and initiatives, and budget management. This person will partner with the Brand Manager, Commercial Manager, cross functional business partners, global team, and communications agencies to develop, execute, and track brand initiatives and marketing plans.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Actively participate in development and execution of annual business and marketing strategy that is customer focused and drives our core brand position.
- Leverage business analysis and tracking, including Nielsen and shipment data, to provide perspective and recommendations on key business drivers and challenges.
- Effectively partner with multifunctional counterparts (ie. R&D, manufacturing, finance, market research, etc) to develop and execute key initiatives including new products and processes.
- Effectively partner with internal and external agencies and vendors to develop and execute marketing elements including packaging, displays, programs and or communications.
- Monitor tracking of APL budget to ensure spending is within budget and review monthly reconciliation with Commercial Manager.
- Support team by managing internal new item process tools for key initiatives as assigned.
- Effectively partner with relevant global partners as needed for support on innovation, packaging, and communications.
- Provide clear recommendations with concise supporting rationale derived from data. Present recommendations and supporting analysis to the team for approval and decision making of brand plans and programs.
- Effectively analyze syndicated data, panel data, consumer research, and shipment data to provide well thought out recommendations for new processes, communication programs and products.
- Work collaboratively to ensure all cross functional departments and agencies are aligned with brand recommendations, programs, and initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field required. MBA preferred.
- 2-3+ years of experience in brand marketing or category management, ideally with CPG brands required.
- Bilingual (English/French) preferred.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel and Powerpoint.
- Ability to analyze syndicated, panel, shipment, and consumer research data required.
- Ability to analyze and problem solve are required – including analysis and reporting for business performance: product P&Ls, mix analysis, APL reporting, competitive trends, and performance at retail.
- Ability to work cross functional with internal and external partners at all levels of the organization.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Must be able to present data in a clear and concise way.
- Ability to manage projects from start to finish with leadership. Must be able to hold other teams accountable for project deliverables and deadlines.
- Role is primarily home-based with weekly in office day (Markham, ON).
- Ability to travel nationally and internationally.
