The City of Edmonton is actively seeking a talented individual to join us as a Talent Acquisition Business Analyst. In this 12-month temporary position, you will play an important part in the design, testing, and implementation of the Recruitment and Onboarding modules in the City’s new Enterprise Commons (EC) System.
The EC project is a multi-year initiative to implement a single enterprise resource planning software solution. It aims to standardize working processes, increase efficiency, and provide greater integration between different functional areas.
You will take charge of testing, training, and business readiness components, ensuring smooth integration and collaboration with Talent Acquisition stakeholders across the City. Additionally, this role will also serve as the lead on small-to-medium initiatives in Talent Acquisition that focus on processes improvements and technology.

- Lead the definition of Talent Acquisition processes and policies, supply business rules and procedures, and communicate the context in which the rules, processes and policies are applied for the EC project
- Accurately represent Talent Acquisition’s needs in EC project team meetings with respect to design, testing, implementation, and training
- Validate the requirements and deliverables for the Recruitment and Onboarding modules of EC
- Coordinate testing for products and services related to to the EC project, and use the results to evaluate accuracy and usability
- Analyze current-state processes and workflows and solve process-related problems
- Define and develop off-system business process solutions
- Resolve issues relevant to project deliverables within your area of expertise
- Lead small-to-medium projects in Talent Acquisition that focus on processes and technology. This includes developing project plans and terms of reference, coordinating the activities of a project team, identifying appropriate resources needed and developing schedules to ensure timely completion of projects
- Execute project management principles, techniques and tools to ensure the successful delivery of projects and change management
- Continually update and learn new technology best practices and functionality via research, events, and networking with industry subject matter experts
- Work collaboratively with various stakeholders and subject matter experts in defining and analyzing business needs and designing corresponding business processes, then present new process designs to stakeholders for discussion
- Prepare and present briefing notes, reports and communications to leadership and other stakeholders as needed
- Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications:- Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Computer Science or a related discipline is required
- Business Analyst and/or Project Management certificate or designation is an asset
- A minimum of four (4) years of diversified and progressive experience in HR or implementing and supporting HR systems is required, as is business analysis, business process management and solutions implementation, systems analysis and design and project and change management, preferably in a large unionized environment
- Innovative thinker, with a mindset capable of both strategic and operational thinking
- Able to break down complex issues into manageable components and apply critical thinking to solve problems effectively
- Working knowledge of project management and change management principles and best practices
- Strong organizational skills to be able to handle multiple competing priorities and projects occurring simultaneously and meet critical deadlines
- Adaptable and able to learn new technologies, methodologies, or domain-specific knowledge to stay updated and deliver valuable insights
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively consult with stakeholders on a diverse range of business activities and effectively create training materials
- Experience and proficiency using SAP (SuccessFactors), Taleo or other applicant tracking system is an asset
- Proficiency in using Google (Docs, Drive, Sheets, Slides) is an asset, with adaptability to learn new applications

Up to 1 temporary full-time position for up to 11 months in accordance with Article 18.02 of the Collective Agreement
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Monday through Friday
The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance.
Salary: $43.325-$54.743 (Hourly)
