Position: Case Aid Worker
Department: Social Services

Salary: $27.46 - $32.81/HR – 35 Hours per Week
Location: Naughton, ON

POSITION SCOPE:
Under the direction of the Family Advocacy Manager, the Case Aide Worker / Repatriation Worker will provide support to the Family Advocacy Team, along with providing supports to Atikameksheng Children in the Care of Child Welfare Agencies. The Case Aide Worker/Repatriation Worker will work collaboratively with the Band Representatives to provide program assistance and direct support to Atikameksheng children, youth and families.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Mandatory Requirements
- Diploma in Social Service/Child Development or equivalent
- Two (2) years’ experience preferably in an Anishnawbek Families and Children
- Experience working with Aboriginal people, organizations, and communities
- CPIC-Vulnerable Sector Check annually and at time of offer
- Valid Class ‘G’ Ontario Driver’s License with clean drivers abstract

- Knowledge of external services and service agencies
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with children and families in a professional manner

- Efficient with data entry into the database systems
- Ability to use good judgment in assessing difficult situations
- Ability to work effectively with internal and external agencies
- Ability to facilitate & co-ordinate family case conferencing and meeting
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide program support and assistance to the Family Advocacy Team to meet the goals and objectives of the Family Advocacy Program (Band Representative)
- Provide support the Band Representatives and Family Advocacy Manager in Repatriation activities.
- Participate in case conferencing, case review, tele conferencing meetings
- Participate in regular department and organizational team meetings
- Submit newsletter articles and program advertising as requested.
- Provide technical support and train staff on the electronic database management system
Administration
- Complete administrative functions and adhere to First Nation policies, procedures, and relevant practices as well as other mandated policies, procedures, and laws.
- Ensure confidentiality and safekeeping of all First Nation documents and records
- Develop and maintain accurate, up-to-date, and concise work files and case notes
- Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and any other relevant legislation
- Ensure documents are completed as required according to First Nation and Ministry standards.
- Assist staff with inputting case notes & other relevant information needed into the electronic database management system
