We are looking to add a full-time bilingual Client Service Representative or Vet Assistant to our AAHA accredited team! The ideal candidate would have either a Medical Laboratory Assistant or a Veterinary Assistant Diploma. This role is to strengthen the human-animal-veterinary bond through exceptional care. Your role is vital to the success of our hospital as you are the first and last contact the client has with us whether it is in person or on the phone. As a representative of our clinic, it is your primary job to ensure that the client and their pet feel welcomed, expertly cared for and immensely appreciated.
Client Service Representative's are the clients’ first impression of the practice, on the phone or in person. CSR's must possess strong organizational skills, excellent telephone and in-person communication skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. CSR's must have compassion for animals and their owners, and understand the stress that patients and clients endure.
A CSR's responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
- Ability to work with a variety of typical office equipment such as a computer, and multiple types of software and social media tools, phone, fax, email, etc. is required.
- Prior knowledge of or the ability to learn medical terminology and veterinary software programs is required.
- Individuals must be able to work equally effectively with or without supervision, have great attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to connect with people in a genuine, friendly and compassionate manner.
We are also looking to recruit a compassionate veterinary assistant to assist our veterinary team by aiding with nursing and other duties. Veterinary assistants provide clients with information regarding treatments and products, keep treatment areas clean, and assist with nursing duties.
The veterinary assistant will educate clients on pet health, ensure the safety and comfort of patients, and oversee continuity of care. You will collaborate with team members to create a positive, comfortable environment for patients. You will provide professional, efficient service at all times.
A VA's responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring treatment areas, examination rooms, hospital areas, cages, and laboratories are clean and organized.
- Sterilizing equipment.
- Providing empathetic care for hospitalized patients, and keeping patients and their cages clean.
- Restraining irritable, fractious patients appropriately and safely where required.
- Assisting with administering medication
- Performing diagnostic imaging and laboratory tests.
- Liaising with veterinarians and veterinary technicians to ensure continuity of patient care.
- Complying with hospital standards, rules, regulations, and policies.
- Maintaining medical records.
