Management and Staff Pharmacist positions available.
Northway Pharmacy is seeking enthusiastic and motivated pharmacists to join our team with unique opportunities for collaborative practice with other healthcare providers.
In this position, the incumbent will be responsible for accurately filling, checking, and dispensing patient prescriptions, and approving all drug-related tasks carried out by Pharmacy Technicians and Assistants.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. (Other duties may be assigned.)
· Provide patient-centered care along with exemplary customer service
· Filling, preparing, checking, and dispensing patient prescriptions as per physician orders in an accurate and timely manner
· Supervising all Pharmacy Assistants/Technicians and approving all their drug-related tasks
· Proficiently communicate with patients including counselling to ensure their understanding of prescribed medications
· Coordinating with prescribers, patients, family members, caregivers, and other medical professionals to ensure seamless care and transitions between hospital to community and a full understanding of the patients’ therapy and care
· Providing specialized clinical services and health promotion programs. Including: administering medications by an advanced method, pharmacist prescribing and medication training and other clinical services as deemed necessary by the Pharmacy
· Fulfilling all duties of a pharmacist as defined by the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba
· Ability to work Saturdays/statutory holidays on a rotation as required
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
As a Pharmacist, the incumbent’s performance is measured by the level of effective and efficient accuracy in filling, checking, and dispensing all patient prescriptions, along with the level of patient satisfaction with all interactions. Performance reviews will be conducted by management annually.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy from a recognized institution
· Licensed through the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba as a practicing Pharmacist
· Must maintain their certification and be a member in good standing with the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba
· Certification to administer drugs and vaccines by injection required
· Must possess a high degree of initiative, the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, and possess time management, organizational and multi-tasking abilities
· 1 to 2 years of Pharmacist experience in community setting considered an asset
· Experience with Kroll pharmacy software considered an asset
· Experience with OAT considered an asset
