Position: CNC Milling Machine Operator / Programmer
Salary: $30-37/hr
Location: South Edmonton & Leduc Shop
Full time, Permanent Position - 40 hours regular + Overtime
Currently seeking 5 individuals who have at least 2+ years experience primarily as a CNC Milling Machinist with strong experience doing full set ups and programming on machine. The position would require candidates to work independently and be able to modify programs, Set up and operate machines. Candidates should also be able to measure and properly QC parts, keep track of inventory/raw materials, utilizing overhead cranes and other shop equipment as necessary.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Program CNC Milling machines, which may include machining of fixtures, debug first run programs, and make changes to machine tool/programs.
- Plan sequences of operations that involve innovations in setups, attachments, techniques, and tools.
- Interpret production order information, including part descriptions/drawings, material grade, documents and drawings.
- Complete work orders within deadlines, utilizing appropriate resources for each job. Plans and prioritizes workload, adjusting for problems and working with the Plant Supervisor to address them.
- Provide training, expertise, and support for Operators/Machinists.
- Work reflects accuracy and ability to meet and exceed quality standards.
- Read and interpret drawings and blueprints to program and operate CNC machines in a responsible, diligent and efficient manner.
- Maintain the CNC Milling Machine area and equipment. Report any concerns to the Plant Supervisor and Maintenance.
- Use overhead cranes and pallet jacks to safely maneuver raw material/ product within the manufacturing plant. Handle materials and equipment with care to ensure raw materials are not damaged while being machined. Report any concerns to the Plant Supervisor.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 3+ years CNC Mill machining/ 2+ programming experience.
- Experienced with GibbsCam, and Cimco Edit.
- Experienced with 4-axis and Wireless Intuitive Probing System
- CNC Red Seal Journeyman preferred.
- Ability to train and coach other employees within the plant as required.
Must have steel-toed boots (other PPE is provided by shop) and must have own transportation.
