Job Description

Time Commitment: Monday to Friday. Flexible 7-hour days between 7 am and 5 pm.
Additional time may be required on the occasional evening and/or weekend.

Compensation and Benefits: Compensation is based on the experience and background of the selected candidate. Competitive benefits package.

Travel Required:

· Employee is expected to travel as required including our 4-day AGM in the Province annually. Occasional paid travel for member engagements.

· Employee must have a vehicle and valid class 5 driver’s license (unrestricted).

Description:

The Construction Labour Relations Association of BC (CLR) was established in 1969 with the objective of bringing labour relations stability and security to contractors in BC’s unionized construction sector. Today, CLR continues to provide a unified voice that is essential to negotiating the most favourable agreements for its member contractors and the industry.

We are looking for a progressive communications and marketing professional to join our team. Specifically, we require a team member with the skills, experience and ambition to make the CLR a leading “best practice” association in all areas of communications, raising the profile of our association and its members to new heights. Your knowledge, expertise, strategic acumen, as well as your personal and professional attributes will be invaluable in ensuring that existing and new methods of digital and print communications are utilized to achieve the profile goals of our organization.

The purpose of this position is to provide an industry-leading marketing, communications, public relations, and branding strategy to the association including a detailed and effective social media plan and website maintenance and then implement and manage the plans as directed.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

· Marketing & Communication Plan: Develop and lead the implementation of the plan with the assistance of the staff Communication Committee within the associated budget.

· Branding Strategy: Outline and execute in-depth strategies to heighten the association’s image with our members, the media and the government as well as outside contractors, associations, and potential business partners.

· Social Media Strategy: Expertise and passion for creating social media content that is detailed and relevant to the organization and our industry. Creative and dynamic with the ability to produce visually appealing messages with impact.

· Visual Media: With the assistance of a film crew, curate and produce promotional videos for the website as well as cohost/interview experts in quarterly live informational seminars.

· Website Maintenance: Provide member contractors with timely and appropriate information required to run their businesses.

· Newsletters: Draft monthly and quarterly relevant communication resources for our members on association updates, current events, and relevant material from our media sources.

· Member Engagement: Create and execute communication strategies and activities with member contractors and other stakeholders.

· Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications & Educational Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field and four years of related experience in design, strategy, planning, and execution of marketing/ communication plans, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

· Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to tailor the message to the audience.

· Experience in developing and maintaining web and online communications including social media and website development.

· Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred skills

· Strategic mindset able to develop and produce material working independently with very little supervision.

· Critical thinker with the ability to evaluate, develop and execute communication strategies.

· Flexible, cooperative, and willing team player.

· All CLR employees are expected to conduct themselves professionally and in accordance with the values of the organization.
