Float empowers companies and teams with smart financial products, helping them achieve their most ambitious goals. We’re making finance more accessible and saving companies and their teams time and money, while disrupting the multi-trillion dollar global B2B finance industry. About the Content and Communications Manager role
We are looking for a creative and tenacious Content and Communications Manager to own and execute content and communications initiatives that build awareness for Float as a market leading Canadian fintech and support top of funnel demand generation.
As the Content and Communications Manager at Float you’ll:
- Create engaging and high-quality written content for Float’s owned channels - website, newsletter, blog, social media, and lifecycle email
- Execute a content and comms program that builds our top of funnel, growing our mailing list of Canadian finance leaders and founders
- Own and manage our editorial calendar, collaborating with our Product Marketing and Growth team members to develop a content publishing schedule that aligns with key company milestones, product releases and demand gen campaigns
- Work in partnership with marketing team members and external partners (videographers, graphic designers, PR team) to develop engaging ways to get in front of our audience and build greater brand awareness for Float
- Find creative ways to distribute and communicate our content and brand story to our target audience, tapping into broader industry trends and current events, and working in partnership with our PR team
- Measure and report on content performance
What your week-to-week looks like:
- Write copy for our website, email, newsletter, etc…
- Update our forward looking content editorial calendar based on market trends, product milestones and upcoming campaigns
- Partner with our brand design team to publish and distribute a deep dive report that generates new leads for Float
- Create the content plan and episode guide for our next season of Retained Learnings, Float’s podcast, that doubles our listener base
Requirements
You’ll be great in this role if:
- You’ve got the experience. 3+ years experience in a content marketing role at a high growth organization, bonus if this was an early stage company where you had to build from scratch.
- You are a strong storyteller. You write content that people love to consume. You are skilled in creating engaging narratives and organizing information in a way that speaks to modern audiences and the Float brand - simple, clever, clear, bold.
- You are an innovator. You are on top of content trends and love to experiment with new ways of reaching and engaging audiences. You have experience creating impact by standing out from the crowd. You are using AI or other software tools to move faster and smarter.
- You are an owner. You are fully accountable for your KPIs. You act like a shareholder of a small business, not like an employee of a large corporation. You want to grow a challenger brand into an industry leader.
- You are driven and action oriented. You have an extremely strong work ethic and approach each situation with energy and enthusiasm. You are committed and determined to achieve or exceed expectations and act with a sense of urgency.
This role won’t be a fit if:
- You like to play it safe
- You are not a self-starter
- You do not like to work independently
- You don’t like ambiguity
- You don’t like regular feedback on your work
- You have poor attention to detail
Don’t meet every single requirement? If you’re excited about this role, and you strongly align with our values but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be the right candidate for this, or other future positions.
