Position: Youth Mental Health Outreach Worker – Mental Health Child and Youth Program

Location: White Rock, BC, but primarily North Surrey area.

Hours: 35 hours/week; permanent full-time

We are looking for a Youth Mental Health Worker to join our Sources Mental Health Child and Youth outreach team! This individual must be able to work well independently, be a great team player, have a passion for working with youth, and have a good understanding of trauma informed and strength-based approaches.

Description of position:

Reporting to the Youth Services Manager, the Youth Mental Health Outreach worker is a permanent employee of Sources Community Resources. This position receives referrals from the MCFD Child and Youth Mental Health team to support youth to build adaptive skills and self-management. The worker will intervene with the client to support the goals as directed by the referring Mental Health Clinician. Activities include, but are not limited to, socialization, symptom reduction and skill development. Integrated case management required. The Youth Mental Health worker requires an ability to enable children/youth (ages 6 to 18) to engage in positive and developmentally appropriate activities with peers and in the community. Requires the ability to provide activity based interventions including one-to-one work or group work focusing on skill building and/or support stabilizing in the community. The Worker will network with and prepare written reports and/or required documentation for the MCFD Mental Health Clinicians. Transporting clients in own vehicle also required. The Worker must demonstrate an ability and willingness to initiate contact with difficult to serve youth. The work is outreach in nature, requires shift flexibility and is provided mainly in the Surrey – Guildford area.
