OSP Projects Group plays a key role responsible for overseeing the quality and efficiency of construction services. Responsible for all construction activities to provide EastLink services to customers Coast to Coast. Their main role is to Project Manage/Coordinate all Coax, Fiber and FTTX infrastructure builds (Residential, Business, Wireless, MDU’s), Rebuilds, Node splits, forced rebuilds, Fiber backhaul for mobile sites.
Job Duties:
- Coordinate daily activities related to all aerial and underground plant construction.
- Complete site visits and surveys for new subdivisions, ESST, Business, Forced Relocate requests requiring quoting and ER’s.
- Provide recommendations for routing and pole positioning.Apply/monitor all applications to utilities, Municipalities (Bell, TELUS, Hydro) and meet with external stakeholders to secure clearances and permits.
- Provide updates to internal and external customers.Ensure that all projects comply with relevant standards/ regulations.
- Quality Check on work performed by Eastlink hired contractors.
- Complete projects on time and on budget.A
- uditing/Verifying: Make Ready/Pole Assessments/MC requests & Searches - including coordination of Field Inspections, Invoice approvals.
- Responsible to resolving billing issues, etc. with Power Companies and other Utilities
- Validation of invoices and approvals to avoid late chargesBuild and improve relationships with both Telecommunication and Power Corporations, to help improve our ability to complete our construction builds in a more timely and effective manner.Validation of Pole audits and Power supply Billing (Field verification).
What you Bring:
- Knowledge of Fiber Optic and Coax technology and construction.
- Understanding of Project Management principles and applications.
- Knowledge of access engineering and design techniques (Fiber, Coax and Copper)
- Understanding of practical knowledge of Access construction techniques (both power and communication space)
- Experience with MC Permitting, Pole Assessments and Utility Applications.
- Knowledge of Regulatory, Support structure agreements, Joint Use agreements, etc associated with Access Designs and construction.
- Solution Oriented (Solving, Anticipating, Identifying and preventing Issues)
