KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, organize, and oversee projects, including site development, construction, and related activities.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, and ensure their effective implementation.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors, to ensure project requirements are met.
- Manage project resources, including labor, equipment, and materials, ensuring efficient utilization and timely procurement.
- Monitor and evaluate project progress, identifying and addressing potential risks and issues, and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, building codes, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor project activities, quality, and safety compliance.
- Prepare project reports, including progress updates, financial summaries, and documentation of changes or variations.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork among project team members.
- Responsible for full cycle RFP management.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing to drive business development.
- Managing the performance, growth and development of direct reports
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
As a member of the Sutherland Group team, we expect you bring the following to the table:
- Proven experience as a construction project manager, preferably within the civil construction industry
- Experience coordinating multiple crews or contractors.
- Experience managing projects in highly regulated environments.
- Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, construction management, or similar.
- PMP designation is an asset
- Knowledge of provincial employment and occupational safety legislation.
- Considerable tact and discretion required in dealing with employees, managers and external enforcement authorities.
- Experience working within a CRM to manage project pipeline
- Proficient in project management software and tools, with excellent computer skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to effectively manage and motivate project teams.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards in construction projects.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence
