Fuzion Flooring – Controller (FULL TIME)
Reporting to – Vice President of Finance

The Controller will have hands on leadership and guidance pertaining to all financial operations and activities. You will manage operational financial reporting, financial budgeting and planning processes in all key business functions and play a leading role in ensuring the company meets our short- and long-term targets. The role will be responsible for providing comprehensive financial updates to executives and senior management by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting on appropriate company metrics and KPIs. This position will implement consistent accounting policies, practices and procedures across all accounting functions and maintain financial controls and guidelines to ensure minimal risk. The Controller will report to the VP of finances to ensure the financial stability and growth of the company.
Duties Include:
- Manage all aspects of accounts payable, cash applications, bank and credit card reconciliations, monthly accruals, and account reconciliation/analysis.
- Establish (in coordination with VP Finance) financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly, and annual basis.
- Formulation and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
- Provides advice and guidance on financial systems, record keeping, analysis, and reporting.
- Responsible in successfully executing year-end internal and/or external audits and be the main point of contact.
- Lead annual budget process, strategic planning, forecasting, as well as other duties and projects as required.
- Manage and comply with local, provincial, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Lead the corporate financial reporting process, including preparation of consolidated financial statements, managing the internal support for external auditors & preparing monthly management reports to key stakeholders.
- Analyze trends, results, and forecast to actual variances and communicate insights to leadership, including identifying risks and opportunities.
- Proactively provide timely, insightful, actionable, and accurate, financial reporting, analysis, and recommendations to key areas in the organization.
- Collaborate with the VP of finance during the monthly close process to ensure accuracy of financials and integration of data.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and laws.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis to support the growth of the business and identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement.
- Hiring, training, mentoring and supervising accounting staff.
Knowledge & Skills Required
- A University degree in Finance/Accounting or Business Administration.
- CPA designation completed or in progress considered an asset.
- 5+ years experience in a controllership role and managing a team
- Strong analytical, interpersonal skills as well as good ability communicate ideas and data, show initiative and achieve results in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple files, set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in the MS Office suite with advanced Excel skills.
- Proficiency/exposure to SAP Business One is an asset.
