Job Description

Term and Location

This role is full-time permanent and is based in Picton Ontario.

Summary

The People and Culture (P&C) department at Base 31 Partners Inc. is searching for an experienced and detail-oriented P&C Coordinator with outstanding problem solving skills and knowledge of employment law, payroll, and total rewards.

Reporting to the Director of People and Culture, the P&C Coordinator will support overall HR functions; including employee data management, responding to employee inquiries, talent acquisition and a range of assignments to support the employee experience and organizational mandates as they arise.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

· Maintain accurate and complete human resources information and personnel files, electronic records systems in compliance with applicable legislation.

· Compile and update payroll data such as vacation time, insurance and other deductions.

· Work closely with the Finance department and take the lead to prepare, submit payroll totals, reconcile payroll and ensure financial balancing and accuracy.

· Prepare and amend, as necessary, HR documents such as memorandum, metrics, job descriptions, and employment contracts.

· Administer full-cycle health benefits, including registering new staff, removing staff and updating any employee changes in the system. Act as a liaison between employees and management, and between employees and benefit providers.

· Administer employee retirement planning programs and updates.

· Provide recruitment support by preparing job ads, screening applications, and setting up interviews.

· Support onboarding of new hires and the training upkeep of all employees.

· Support coordination of employee programs, including skills development training and occupational health and safety to ensure compliance in accordance with relevant legislation.

· Stay abreast of compliance requirements and industry best practices; recommend changes or modifications to existing policies and programs to remain in compliance; and adopt best practices where feasible.

· Handle employee inquiries and provide support as the first point of contact.

· Coordinate and create internal and external communications to support HR initiatives.

· Collaborate with the Senior Director, Human Resources to analyze and identify current and future departmental needs to support business initiatives.

· Assist with any other administrative tasks as needed.

· Problem solving: use logic and analytical methods to identify issues and propose solutions.

· Professionalism: demonstrate professional standards of conduct when governing interactions between individuals in a business environment.

· Self-starter: work independently with flexibility and confidence.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

· Minimum 4 years of HR related experience.

· A good understanding of HR processes, procedures, and policies. Experience in a professional business environment preferred.

· Understanding various HR related software systems, such as ADP WFN, group benefit platforms, and HRMS.

· Strong background in full payroll process and benefits administration including retirement planning is an asset.

· English/French bilingualism is an asset.
