Your Role on our Team: The Budget/Cost Analyst will support the Construction, Warranty, and Finance team by reviewing monthly budgets and reporting on variances.
In this role, you will:
- Work with Construction, Warranty, and Finance team to refine existing budgeting templates to enable the team to become more effective in General Conditions, Warranty, and Rework budgeting
- Provide monthly budget reports, updates on actual costs to date, and scrutiny in comparing actual costs vs. projected costs
- Work with Construction and Warranty Management and Sites to develop strategies to beat initial budgets
- Identify areas of risk in relation to the budget to allow the teams to make adjustments and meet or beat the budget
- Develop a working relationship with all stakeholders, allowing candid and transparent discussions to meet the shared objective
- Attends and participates in site meetings as needed
- Identify areas of opportunity to provide greater control of costs
- Establishes and maintains communication between all departments. Provides assistance to other departments when requested
- Participates in special projects as assigned and as required
- Other duties within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job, as requested by management
We would like you to have:
- A College Diploma is required, a Post-Secondary Degree is an asset[WN1] .
- A minimum of 1-3 [WN2] years of experience in Low Rise and High-Rise Construction Management is required. Experienced in working with Excel is required
- Experience and comfort in working with Excel and Pivot Tables is required.
- Microsoft Office (Including proficiency in Excel).
- Experience with NEWSTAR, or similar systems is highly desired.
- Understands concept of Project Management specifically in the area of construction scheduling
- Detail Oriented and Accurate.
- Ability to learn new concepts and systems is highly desired.
- Skilled in analytical problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Exceptional time management and organization skills.
