Job Description
Are you passionate about personal finance and equipping and empowering the under-served in our community to take control of their finances?
Launch Financial Education Society is a Canadian registered charity based in Kelowna that exists to empower individuals to fulfill their potential through financial education, mentorship, and incentives. We run financial literacy programs in-person in the Central Okanagan, and we welcome participants residing throughout the Okanagan and beyond to our programs offered via Zoom. For almost 15 years, Launch has primarily supported the most vulnerable in our community to improve their financial knowledge, skills, and confidence so they can make sound financial decisions and build financial security. Launch offers 3 main programs: Primer for Life, Dollars and Sense and Matched Savings, along with workshops and one on one coaching as needed.
To meet the growing demand for our programs, Launch Okanagan is looking for a part-time paid contractor to facilitate individual programs. This Program Facilitator will work closely with the Executive Director to facilitate programs on their own and, at times, in partnership with one of Launch’s amazing volunteers. They will also help with the administration of our programs, which includes communicating with participants and keeping program records up to date for reporting purposes.
The Program Facilitator displays strong group facilitation skills and has experience facilitating online. To be successful in this role you will be able to draw on your own experiences with money. As Launch Okanagan works with a wide range of participants, the Program Facilitator also needs to be an empathetic listener in order to adapt your facilitation methods to meet the needs of diverse program participants.
This position involves facilitating online from your home, and time-to-time facilitating face to face in the community. Program Curriculum, training, mentoring, and ongoing support is provided to prepare you for successful program facilitation.
The hours for this position will fluctuate each week, depending on the number of programs that are running. Some of our programs are facilitated in the evenings. On average, you will work 10 hours a week.
