As the Talent Development Specialist (TDS) you will provide support for candidates in the leadership development programs to ensure they successfully complete the program and are store ready. You must facilitate placement of candidates liaising with the retail Talent Acquisition Specialist (TAS). The TDS is responsible for the retail store level talent reviews and leading the identification and development planning of all candidates for our recruited positions.
Accountabilities:
- Work with regional resources to understand needs and timing of regional talent requirements for the Associate, Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician, FSM, AFSM & CxM positions
- Source LEAD & Advanced LEAD Candidates from Regional resources and complete enrolment into the program
- Communicate expectations and build customized training plans
- Develop and mentor coaches of candidates enrolled in the programs
- Work closely with District Managers to identify training stores, coaches, and final placement of program graduates
- Maintain and assess workforce and succession plan (the pipeline) to lead the talent management of recruited positions
- Ensure that the on-the-job training component is completed successfully and that candidates can effectively demonstrate competence in each area of the training plan.
- Liaise with colleagues on the TAS team and within HR to align to national strategies and share best processes
- Liaise with L&D Administrator and Training and Development team as needed.
- Travel across province or nationally as required
- Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned
What you need:
- Proven understanding of the retail business environment
- Experience in pharmacy retail an asset
- Strong organizational, collaboration and analytical skills
- Results oriented with a sound sense of urgency and ability to work independently
- Excellent leadership skills
- Ability to communicate with all levels of staff and management on recruitment issues in a professional and confidential manner
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Able to communicate in both French and English (bilingual)
Experience:
- 3 years experience in the field of talent management/development (i.e., Learning, Talent Management, HR Business Partnering etc.)
- In-depth knowledge of performance management, learning and talent management processes including experience with automated systems to support these processes.
- Demonstrable track record for implementing HR strategy using practical tactics and solutions to translate strategies into action.
- You are capable of building strong, collaborative relationships with HR business partners to provide talent management solutions to business.
- Excellent relationship building and collaboration skills will enable this individual to work optimally across geographic and business unit boundaries.
- Experience with Workday (HRIS) and First Advantage (HMS) an asset.
Education:
Post-secondary education equivalent to a university degree in Human Resources Management or related field. CHRP designation would be an asset
