Pictou County Women’s Resource and Sexual Assault Centre (PCWRSAC) is the oldest women’s Centre in Nova Scotia. PCWRSAC offers support and advocacy to individual women, unites women, community and government to achieve equality. Our work is rooted in a trauma informed, intersectional feminist approach.
The Centre is part of Women’s Centre Connect, recognized as a strong, collective feminist voice providing services and support across Nova Scotia.
PCWRSAC is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Organizational Development and Strategy to join our dynamic team for a term position.
Position Scope:
PCWRSAC Director of Organization Development and Strategy reports directly to the Executive Director. The Director of Organizational Development and Strategy will be responsible for working collaboratively and building upon PCWRSAC structures of resilience through strategic plan and business continuity plan aligning our goals, resources and lessons learned through the pandemic. Evaluate our benefits and salaries, systems of payroll and research, develop and provide training in the Board Governance Model to strengthen our foundation. As well as the related training and professional development of staff and volunteers.
IDEAL CANDIDATE:
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a women centered, trauma informed intersectional non-profit. The candidate we are seeking is highly skilled, organized, logical, and strategic. They must be able to collaborate and bring together our lived lessons of the pandemic in a coordinated effort to achieve a common goal and eliminate existing barriers.
The successful candidate should be insightful and analytical and able to incorporate, analysis the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women Recommendations, the Nova Scotia Mass Casualty Commission Final Report and the National Action Plan to End Gender Based Violence as they relate to our Gender Based Violence intervention and preventative work.
Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in non-profit or social services sector, with a proven record of success in development, evaluation and implementation of strategic plans, financial evaluation and oversight, research, report writing and leading change.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Strong critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills.
Responsibilities:
● Working in conjunction with the Executive Director and designated board committee.
● Review, develop and implement organizational development policies and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of programs and services, operations and governance.
● Review, lead the development, renewed strategic plan including an implementation and evaluation plan and process.
● Monitor program outcomes and make recommendations for improvements to Executive Director
● Ensuring operational goals alignment with the overall organizational strategy.
● Reviews, payroll and systems of financial management ensuring these systems are effective.
● Provide trauma informed, intersectional leadership
● In consultation with the Executive Director assesses needs, develops, implements, and evaluates service delivery.
● Complete a salary and benefit review including job descriptions, qualifications, benefits, contract obligations
● Review and establish payroll methods
● Review, develop and implement a Business Continuity Plan ensuring succession planning at all levels staff, board, volunteers
● Ensuring and as needed developing recruitment, onboarding and evaluation methods
● Research and develop Governance Training for board ensuring governance goals, develop and offer training on a model that is representative to feminist, intersectional and trauma informed women centered work.
● Computer skills and literacy (Word, google work space, excel, Prezi, PowerPoint, EMAIL, virtual work spaces , layout and design)
● All other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director
This term position is 37.5 hours per week and may blend on site and virtual work offers a competitive salary and cost shared health benefit. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a vulnerable sector background check and child abuse registry check.
