As of December 1st, 2022, Covid vaccinations will not be required of new and existing employees, but we strongly encourage everyone to follow local public health recommendations, including keeping vaccinations up to date.Position SummaryUnder the direction of the Vice-President, New Business Ventures, the aim of the role is to successfully implement (and adjust) the vision 20/30 Export strategy for Corby Spirit and Wine, as needed, based on existing and new business flow, by leveraging existing brand platforms and new innovation projects.This position requires extensive experience in sales strategy development, full P&L accountability, the discipline of brand marketing and knowledge of exporting to and establishing effective agency relationships in international markets.The successful candidate will have keen sense of accomplishment and a passion for delivering results, while operating in an entrepreneurial, collaborative, and fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- As part of the Corby overall business strategy, develop a medium-term (3 years) Export Sales Strategy, in support of vision 20/30 including the optimization of key Brand Market Combinations (BMC) and Route to Market within each BMC.
- Based on the above-mentioned strategy, define short-term priorities and action plan and prepare budget as part of the Corby global budget in collaboration with the Importer/Distributor network, Marketing, and Finance team, including volume ambitions, inventory levels, detailed promotional and advertising action plan, pricing strategy, packaging, logistics, distribution targets, Net Sales objectives and contingency planning.
- In collaboration with Corby Supply Chain team, ensure the timely update of demand forecast and delivery of shipments against key initiatives (VAPs, Special Packs, etc.) to Importers and Distributors.
- Oversee the activities of our network of Importers, Distributors and Agents. Makes periodic visits to Distributors to build relationships, encourage the sale of Company products and ensure flawless execution of agreed to action plans. Accompanies Distributors to Key Customer visits to support the sales of Company products.
- Report to the Corby Executive Committee and Board of Directors on Export business YTD results (shipments and depletions), full-year perspectives (R&Os and/or LEs) as well as ad hoc projects on a monthly basis.
- Work with External Affairs to identify and leverage initiatives supported by Canadian authorities e.g. participation in trade fairs, subsidies for promotional activities.
- Recommends improvements in existing products/product mix and development of new products to meet customer/consumer needs. Assists in the development of special unit packaging as required for specific markets.
- Work collaboratively with Distributors and Key Customers to derive Key Consumer insights to enhance the sales performance of the brands.
- Identify and submit for review by the Executive Committee, potential new sources of business, based either on new markets or on innovation.
- Responsible for the recruitment and onboarding of direct reports; two Commercial Managers (US and Rest of the World) and a Global Brand Ambassador.
- Responsible for the on-going performance management of direct reports, through monthly performance meetings with individual team members and by the adoption of Corby’s annual performance review cycle.
- Identify and work collaboratively with Pernod Ricard GTR team to execute key opportunities in the Duty-Free channel.
Relevant Experience- University Degree
- Supervisory or team lead experience
- Experience in the beverage alcohol industry and/or service industry
- Wine and Spirit product knowledge an asset
- Strong time management and organization skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong financial acumen and past P&L accountability
- Leading cross functional teams through complex projects
- Travel required - Must have a valid driver’s license
