Qualifications:
- Three or four year undergraduate degree required
- Must possess a diploma/certificate in Human Resources Management or equivalent
- Minimum 9 years’ experience in Human Resources is required
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in leading and managing a team is essential
- Previous benefit and pension administration is essential
- Must have experience in Labour Relations Management and able to participate in negotiations at a senior level in a unionized environment.
- Strong organization skills, the ability to handle confidential information with tact and diplomacy and manage large volumes of work is essential
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills are mandatory, as is demonstrated ability to deal congenially with a variety of people and operate effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Computer skills are essential
Position Responsibilities:
- Interprets, implements and ensures compliance with all Human Resources policies, plans, objectives and procedures
- Acts as advisor to Directors/Managers with the administration, interpretation and implementation of Collective Agreements.
- Directs the maintenance of a central file of job descriptions/specifications for all positions in the Hospital.
- Ensure the development and implementation of an effective Personal Excellence Program.
- Responsible for coordinating and administering programs and education to ensure the physical and mental wellness of all employees.
- Chair of the Human Resources Management & Development Team, ensuring compliance with the Accreditation Standards and addressing matters that are specific to extended departments within the team.
- Assumes responsibility for annual departmental, operational and capital budget preparations.

- Provide expertise to all employees regarding benefits/services.
- Coordinate the administration of the Employee Recognition Awards program, ensuring that awards are available as required and distributed to the appropriate Managers/Directors.
- Maintain the Attendance Management Program, ensuring it is reviewed annually.
- Assists Directors/Managers with position assignments.
- Execute all Pay Equity reviews as required with HR consultant.
- Compile and distribute monthly statistical reports such as hires/lefts, service anniversaries, lists of new employees, personal excellence program, etc.
- Act as Hospitals liaison with OHA, Hospitals and other companies regarding the completion of Human Resources specific surveys
