Responsibilities include and are not limited to: Sales performance, strategic planning, tactical planning, shaping medical education, internal cross functional collaboration and leadership, external customer relationship building, ales team engagement, training and development. The Director of Sales will challenge the Canadian team to consistently meet and exceed targets as well as innovate and evolve the medical sales strategy with the goal of being the #1 Medical Licensed Producer in Canada.Responsibilities
- Oversee the creation of a high-performance team via effective recruiting, coaching, resourcing, and performance management
- Manage a team of field-based Sales Representatives to exceed targets
- Collaborate with the marketing team in crafting well-conceived brand plans
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies aligned with the broader integrated business planning process and execute with excellence
- Utilize available data analytics to develop field-force effectiveness programs
- Assist the commercial team members in developing effective business strategy that aligns with organizational objectives
- Leads the development and execution of Regional and Territory Plans to drive sales
- Partners with Commercial Operations to analyze sales effectiveness and adjust plans as necessary
- Ensures communication of sales performance to senior management and the sales teams on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
- Assist in the establishment and monitoring of key performance indicators
- Collaborate on the development of sales forecasts and operational budgets to ensure organizational efficiency; meet or exceed all budgetary expectations
- Develop strong working relationships with Key Opinion Leaders to gain customer insights
- Partners in the development of National and Regional Sales Meetings
- Maintain open communication with the broader medical team to share success stories, best practices and communicate to the broader team
- Conduct field visits to monitor current business opportunities and challenges
- Deliver high performance direct-report coaching that fosters a culture of executional excellence
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience- 10+ years of experience in the medical sector
- Medical Cannabis experience an asset
- Sales management experience
- A degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university
- Proven track record of success in multiple roles
- Strong leadership ability to manage a highly skilled team, and collaborate with a diverse group of cross functional internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated tactical proficiency in strategic planning, market and customer segmentation, forecasting, resourcing, and setting and achieving targets
- An ability to think holistically about competitive market dynamics, anticipate change, create and adapt brand value propositions and processes to achieve success
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
- Excellent negotiation, problem-solving ability, and creative thinking
- Excellent project management skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Comfort with ambiguity and able to perform in a fast pace and changing environment
- Valid driver’s license
- Travel up to 35%
