We are looking for a driver to support the Archway Food Bank’s operations. Our Drivers are responsible for ensuring that our programs can run by making sure that orders are picked up and dropped off in a timely manner. Drivers work as part of a dynamic team to collect a redistribute hundreds of thousands of pounds of food in our community. This position supports the activities of the Lead Driver in ensuring the needs of the Food Banks programs are met. This position will cover temporary leave until March 2024.
Your Role:
Archway’s Driver with the Food Bank contributes by:
- Loading, unloading and delivering food to a variety of programs and partners on a weekly basis.
- Operating the delivery vehicle safely and in accordance with the rules of the road.
- Maintaining and building relationships with partners and contacts.
- Assisting in maintaining the Food Bank fleet of vehicles, ensuring regular tune-ups and maintenance appointments are scheduled.
- Assisting with tasks related to the overall operation of food distribution.
This position is a great fit for a great team player with good time management skills and who wants to support our work addressing food insecurity in our community.
- Wage: $20.00 per hour
- Part-time: 14 hours per week
- Shifts would be scheduled around normal working hours of 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Mondays to Fridays. Some evenings, weekends may be required.
- Temporary until March 31, 2024.

- Class 5 BC Driver’s License and satisfactory driver’s abstract.
- Experience driving large vehicles and operating pallet jacks.
- Forklift training/experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of Office 365.
- Experience in a customer service position is preferred.
The Job Requires you to have::
- Well-developed relationship building skills.
- Good organization, planning and time management skills.
- Familiarity with food handling practices and Occupational Health & Safety standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of passionate and dedicated team.
- Ability to sit for periods of time.
- Your own safety boots.
- Willingness and flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
- Ability to work in multiple locations, including a warehouse environment which may include noise, dust and areas of the warehouse being unheated or having no air conditioning.
- A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is a condition of employment.
